NPCore participated in 'ISEC 2017' ... 'ZombieZERO EDR for Server' was debuted and demonstrated
[Picture : NPCore participated in 'ISEC 2017' held in COEX from Sep. 5th ~ 6th to show 'ZombieZERO EDR for Server', new product for server security. NPCore's sales manager Lee, Gun-Woong was watching the demo video and explaining new products to VIPs composed of gov. officials.]
Recently in Korea, there was the biggest security incident that the servers of Korean hosting company were attacked by the variant Ransomware. So the sense of crisis for Ransomware has raised and security measures and security awareness of gov. agencies and enterprises have been further strengthened. As a result, NPCore(CEO Han, S.C.) first introduced its new server security product, 'ZombieZERO EDR for Server' at the '11th International Security Conference (ISEC 2017)' held on Sep. 5 ~ 6. The 11th annual ISEC is the largest cyber security conference event in Korea. In this event, NPCore showed and demonstrated 'ZombieZERO EDR for Server', which is the Whitelist-based APT / Ransomware response solution installed on the server and is aimed at the security manager of gov. agencies and enterprise along with Nicstech, Secucen and CoreInfra. NPCore is specialized in defense solution against unknown APT and Ransomware and provides two-level defense on network and endpoint based on behavior. Existing security solutions (signature-based Anti-virus) cannot respond against APT (targeting malware) and new / variant Ransomware such as WannaCry and Petya, and traditional Sandbox technology is vulnerable to malware bypassing virtual machine, new and variant Ransomware and attack through encryption section (SSL communication). To overcome these limitations, the importance of EDR (End Point Detection & Response) technology has been highlighted. In line with this, NPCore released 3 security products for endpoints (▲ ZombieZERO EDR for APT- Endpoint Security against APT, ▲ ZombieZERO EDR for Ransomware- Endpoint Security against Ransomware, ▲ ZombieZERO SECaaS (Security as a Service)- Cloud type Security) And NPCore recently released 'ZombieZERO EDR for Server' due to the biggest recent server's security incident and built it up in the OO Broadcasting Station. ZombieZERO EDR for Server is installed on the Windows server and blocks the execution of new/variant malwares in real time through the whitelist-based execution holding function. And it analyzes/detects known and unknown malwares through the central analyzer (ZombieZERO Inspector) to make the system execute only secure file. [Operation sequence of 'Zombie Zero EDR for Server'] 1) Server access → Blocking execution of processes not registered on the whitelist. 2) EXE file analysis :  Malicious file is blacklisted and isolated. / Normal file is added to Whitelist. 3) If the analysis result proved to be normal, the file is executed normally and you can check it. / If malicious file, the EXE file is blocked by EDR.

On the first day of the conference, NPCore's director Kim, Mu-Jeong gave a speech on 'APT and Ransomware Defense System centered on endpoint utilizing advantage of Sandbox'. Mr. Kim proposed the direction of Ransomware blocking technology and proceeded real time Q & A via Facebook. After the speech, many people came to the exhibition booth and asked many additional questions. WannaCry Ransomware blocking demo video and demonstration were also conducted at the booth and led the response. NPCore, CEO Han, Seung-chul said, "Many people from various companies including gov. agencies, military, media companies, and SI companies consulted and asked for a follow-up visit and proposal. So we were able to confirm positive responses to EDR products and achieve business results more than expected."

A broadcasting station decided to install 'EDR for Server', security product for server of NPCore.

Korean broadcasting station A, a comprehensive programming channel, decided to adopt ZombieZERO EDR for Server, a cyber security product for server of NPCore (CEO. Han, Seung Chul) on August 14.

In June, Korean hosting company's servers were attacked by 'Erebus' Ransomware, so the company paid for the biggest damage in Korea, 1.3 billion won, to restore the encrypted data, but some data of the damaged hosting servers is not restored. 'Erebus' Ransomware is a variant malware that combines APT (targeting malware) and Ransomware attacking server. Due to the large-scale incident that Ransomware attacked the server, the Korean companies operating the server had sense of crisis and and felt keenly the necessity of countermeasures. The Korean broadcasting station A was considering this countermeasure, and recently its server was attacked by Ransomware. Fortunately they reponded properly in the early stages, so the damage did not spread, but they rushed to take measures to protect their servers from Ransomware in earnest. The broadcasting station A proposed PoC (Proof of Concept, Pre-test of performance) to some companies that can perform the required function (whitelist-based cyber security solutions for server). Finally, three companies(NPCore, A and C company) participated in the first and second PoC. The first PoC was held on July 13 and the second PoC was held on August 2. As a result, the performance of the "ZombieZERO EDR for Server" product of NPCore was selected as the top priority negotiator by winning the highest score in the first and second PoC. "ZombieZERO EDR for Server" is installed on the Windows Server and blocks the execution of new/variant malwares in real time through the whitelist-based execution holding function. And it analyzes/detects known and unknown malwares through the central analyzer (ZombieZERO Inspector) to make the system execute only secure file.

NPCore participated in 'RSA APJ 2017' and introduced EDR products of 'ZombieZERO Series'

There was a high interest in EDR products due to worldwide Ransomware attacks such as WannaCry and Petya.

In the first half of 2017, Ransomware has been and continues to be an issue in cybersecurity worldwide. The Ransomware attack targeting the Asian region has increased by about 27% compared to 2016, and this time, in the "RSA APJ (Asia Pacific & Japan) 2017" held in Singapore from July 26 to 28, NPCore (CEO: Han Seung-chul) showed APT / Ransomware response solution, 'Zombie Zero Series' to make sure of entering Southeast Asia market.
RSA APJ Conference, the 5th annual event this year, is the Southeast Asia event of RSA, the world's largest information security conference.
In this event, NPCore introduced the strengths of the new product line of 'ZombieZERO Series' to security officials in Southeast Asia who are interested in cyber security such as Ransomware and APT, and demonstrated the products.
NPCore is specialized in APT and Ransomware defense solution and provides two-level defense on network and endpoint with behavior-based technology.
In line with this, NPCore recently released 4 security products for endpoints (▲ EDR for APT, ▲ EDR for Ransomware, ▲ SECaaS (Security as a Service), ▲ Zombie Zero EDR for Server). NPCore provides network-based security solutions for APT and Ransomware attacks, as well as endpoint security solutions, cloud type security solution, and server security solution.
NPCore's EDR products are especially well- received through consultation with various countries and companies such as government agencies, public institutions, and telecom companies in Singapore, SI companies in Malaysia, telecom companies and electric power company in Vietnam and global bank, etc.
Han, S.C., NPCore's CEO said "We had participated for 4 consecutive years, but this time we were able to see the high level of interest and demand for endpoint security, through consultation with a number of companies, due to the global Ransomware incidents such as WannaCry and Petya."
